I love working with the children and families. The staff and admin team are so supportive. BHP builds a loving and professional environment that promotes creativity.

It has been almost twenty years since I began teaching preschoolers and kindergarteners music, dance and theater through the Musical Kids program I helped create. I travelled all over Southern California from Redlands to San Diego. Although I taught at several schools in Redlands, I felt the most connections to Barton House Playschool. In 2017 I decided to limit my travel which had peaked at driving over 3000 miles a month! I graciously accepted a part-time position at Barton House Playschool and had the pleasure of being able to call BHP my home. Four years ago, I moved to a lead teacher position, which I absolutely adore. I also went back to school to complete two Associate of Arts degrees in Fine Arts and Social Science and will complete a bachelor’s in Educational Studies this year. I wouldn’t have been able to achieve any of this without the love and support of my family. As I type this, I am reminded that I should also show gratitude to my three sweet kitties (one of which is currently walking on the ;.bdfbjnhhhhkaweq231q keyboard). Thank you, kitties, for lowering my blood pressure during Biology and Economics. Away from work and school, I enjoy singing with my husband, camping at June Lake, watching Harry Potter, and providing foley sound effects for live radio shows.

I love Barton House Playschool’s mission and vision! Both my children attended Redlands Playschool/Barton House Playschool before I re-entered the workforce. I was able to see the joy and magic of this special school through the eyes of my own children. When they grew onto their elementary years, I was not ready to leave this age and stage. I am a strong believer in learning through play and enjoying childhood. I love that I get to come to school every

day and work with these amazing children & families. I find my

work to be extremely rewarding and meaningful. I have the opportunity to transform lives, continuously be creative, and make children’s today a little smarter and they're tomorrow a little brighter.
