Barton House Playschool is a child-centered, half-day, Christian preschool that welcomes children of any race, color, religion, national or ethnic origin. We are a non-profit corporation, and we are licensed by the Community Care Licensing Division of the California Department of Social Services.
For young children, play is a fundamental mode of learning.
Learning involves the process of discovery, and it should be hands-on, active and intrisically motivated.
We strive to provide an environment that encourages curiosity and discovery through play.
We at Barton House Playschool provide children with a wide variety of activities that will allow for success and encourage advancement in all areas of development. Our goal is to provide an environment where children can feel safe, honored, cared for, and valued. It is then children can become active learners, they can challenge themselves, they feel empathy and compassion, they are kind, enthusiastic about learning, they question, think, problem solve and love.

Our program focuses on the development of the whole child (social, physical, cognitive, emotional, and spiritual).
Our program provides opportunities for each child to succeed and take pride in his/her success in a loving, nurturing, and safe environment.
We use positive teaching methods in a non-pressured, non-judgmental atmosphere to obtain the above goal.
Uses an individualized approach to teaching which helps each child learn the skills necessary to live in this world.
Offers hands-on experiences, which exposes the child to concepts that have meaning for him/her at his/her own stage of development and lays the foundation for future learning. We explore experiences using both gross and fine motor skills.
Encompasses activities in the areas of art, science, math, music, cooking, language, development, dramatic play, outdoor activities, and field trips. We offer rich art and music experiences which are an expression of the child's self.
